Chaleco No. 2

$40.00

Chaleco No. 2 is a celebration of the stitches that punctuate political participation. In Chile, L-shaped blanket stitches line arpilleras, the applique-based art form tasked with visibilizing the violence of the Pinochet dictatorship in the 1970s. As an artist working amidst and towards contemporary revivals of the arpillera, I use formal arpillera references in bright, wearable pieces to show how fibers document the everyday: through moments of joy, political trouble, or otherwise being.

Vest is vintage Talbots, sized Women’s Large
Average resale value of this piece is $35
